In my 5 years in Beijing I had to move my studio three times. Beijing is a city in constant change and construction is everywhere. Artists are not the priority of the Chinese government and priority is often given to an apartment complexes. Each time I moved I became wary of construction and piles of rubble closing in on my studio complex. I started photographing and sketching these piles and incorporated them into these paintings.
